Free ConsultationWhat Is a Writ of Possession?
A Writ of Possession is a court order that authorizes the constable to physically remove a tenant from your property. It is issued after a landlord wins an eviction judgment and the tenant fails to vacate within the required timeframe.
Under Texas Property Code §24.0061, there is a 5-day waiting period after the judgment is signed before the writ can be issued. Once issued, the constable posts a 24-hour notice on the property before executing the removal.
NTX Eviction manages this entire process — from requesting the writ to coordinating all logistics for a smooth property turnover.
